Dollar Tree Haul | Part 2: L.A. Colors

Hi everyone!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 2017 is here you guys! I hope it’s a good one for you.

As promised here is the 2nd part of my Dollar Tree Haul!
If you want to check out Part 1 feel free to click this link  It will open up another tab for you!

The second part of this haul is going to be a long one too! I’m sorry I got a lot of stuff! lol

Like I said in the last post…. THEY GOT ME! I’m a sucker for affordable great quality makeup!

So I’ll start with the products that made it into my basket on a whim…

2 packs of a shiz ton of stretchy hair ties! I think each pack had about 30-40 pieces.

I have lots of them now and I’m a happy camper! Let me tell you… The days when I can’t find a stupid hair tie will be the death of me. So now I keep them all next to my mirror on a chain.

When I’m on a budget I always pick up a tube of tooth paste from the Dollar Tree.

This time I grabbed the Advanced Whiteing one from the Colgate line. There is quite a selection at the Dollar Tree which surprised me.

I’ve been using a different kind of tooth paste that was a bit more pricey. Stay tuned for a future post on my empties. I’m sure that product will make an appearance.

Okay so on to the makeup!

I want to talk about the ONE e.l.f. Cosmetics product I found at the very bottom buried under tons of makeup.

— While I was digging through makeup some lady came up to me and asked if they still had laxatives….. Yeah. I told her I had no idea and that I didn’t work there and then laughed. haha! She said “You look so happy.” As she looked down at me because I was sitting on the floor digging through the bottom shelf of makeup.

WHO AM I?!

Makeup Monster.

All the digging got me this…

This little pod is a tinted lip balm in the color Nude.

I must say it wasn’t my favorite find but I do love it.

The tint does show up on my lips which is really cool and the balm is very moisturizing. It’s so small and perfect for my purse!

It has a smooth buttery texture and you can apply with your finger.

Another brand and product I one found one of was this cute little eyeshadow palette. It’s so slim and adorable!

There are 12 different shades!

All shimmery and very wearable. I swatched the three warm colors for you to see the pigmentation and shimmer.

I find them easy to apply with a brush and with your finger. They blend out so well!

Let me know if you’d like to see a look created with this palette down in the comments.

Okay now on to the products from the L.A. Colors line.

First I grabbed these two eyeliner/brow pencils.

They are both in a dark brown shade.

I really enjoyed this product. I mostly use it for my brows. Ive noticed that I started to get away from this style of applicator. I’ve stopped using all brow pencils and pencil liners. I don’t really know why. I think it’s because I fell in love with the Nxy Micro Brow which I talk about in my Nyx Haul. I’ll link that post here for you to go check out!

Next is this awesome eyeliner. I totally forgot to take a picture of the product in its wrapping.

But I’m sure you don’t care. This eyeliner works great for me. I like the sharp point it came with and am sad that unfortunately it won’t be there for long and I don’t have a tiny sharpner.

Totally worth the $1 and the applicator is so easy to twist.

I also grabbed this lipstick and lipgloss duo! I thought the packaging was super cool.

I thought the color was very versatile. I can see myself wearing this in the winter and spring!

The lipstick is a mauve pink.

Here are swatches for both the lipstick and lipgloss!

I love it! It’s very soft and velvety and doesn’t feel heavy on my lips! The lipstick also looks much brighter in the swatch than on my lips.

Next I picked up foundation & concealer!

The foundation I got was in the color Natural.

I thought the packaging was so cute! It’s a small cylinder with a PUMP!!!! I was so surprised to find that it had a pimp because usually items I find at the dollar store aren’t that great of quality. You get what you pay for you know.

However this foundation is actually really creamy and soft.

It was a little light for my skin in this swatch but once I blend it out and go on with my regular routine I make it work quite well!

I pumped some product straight onto my face and used my beauty blender to blend!

The concealer I picked up was in the shade Nude.

It comes with a wand applicator which I love!

I found it very easy to blend and it was a great color for my under eyes.

After applying and blending it around my face I decided to also use it as a primer for my eyeshadow!

Here is my happy face after applying the product and blending it out!

The foundation and concealer are both very light coverage but if you want a more natural look these products are great for you! I also filled my eyes brows in with the L.A. Color brow pencils I mentioned earlier in this post’

Overall I loved my finished look! Let me know what you think about it in the comments!

Those were all the products in the 2nd part of this Dollar Tree haul! I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I. I really love writing and sharing all my purchases with you so I hope you continue to come back to read, comment, and like my post!

Thank you all so much!

Don’t forget to leave me a comment down below and let me know if you have found any great deals at Dollar Tree or what your favorite affordable brands are! I would love to know!

  1. Nice post! You pushed me to try out some of the Dollar Tree makeup. I gave two different liquid foundations a try and have decided I like the L.A. Colors one better than my typical Estee Lauder one. I did pickup one of the Grapefruit E.L.F. lip balm and also found some E.L.F. purple eye shadow (I didn’t pick that one up because it’s not my thing). I LOVE the E.L.F. lip stain, I wish they had those at the dollar store! Lol.

Thanks for the push to actually try the Dollar Tree stuff!

    1. You’re so welcome! I’m glad you tried it! Some of the products are hit or miss that’s why I tried to search for the ones I thought were the highest quality! They have some awesome stuff. Sometimes you just gotta did for it! Haha! The grapefruit lip balm sounds pretty cool! The lip stains are awesome I have one in berry I believe.
