The DivaCup Review

Have you heard about The DivaCup?
If you have heard about it, I would love to read your thoughts in the comment section! I’ve had it now for 2 months and its become one of my all time favorite products!

I purchased mine at Whole Foods. I was browsing the Whole Body department of their store and noticed it on the very bottom shelf. There are two different sizes of the cup, Model 1 & Model 2.

According to their website:

Model 1 is recommended for women under the age of 30 who have never delivered vaginally or by cesarean section. Model 2 is recommended for women age 30 and over who have delivered vaginally or by cesarean section.

Since I have not delivered a baby I picked up Model 1. I was surprised that Wholefoods even carried them but after thinking about it, it all made sense. The DivaCup is absolutely great for the environment, there is no waste and no chemicals involved. It is made from the amazing high quality healthcare silicone to insure you are nothing but comfortable and it does not contain any latex, plastic, PVC, acrylic, acrylate, BPA, phthalate, elastomer, polyethylene, and is 100% free of colors and dyes. The durability it has is also incredible! I was so pumped about finding it at Whole Foods that I immediately purchased it and anxiously waited for my next period!

My first time using it,  I have to admit,  I was a little scared. When you first open up the package all you see is a large silicone cup, an adorable purple drawstring baggie to use for proper storage of the cup,  and a small pamphlet with instructions on how to insert The DivaCup. Even though I had my doubts I did exactly what the pamphlet said and inserted The DivaCup by folding the lip in. It slipped right in and felt SO COMFORTABLE! Way more comfortable than a tampon. I’ve only used tampons when I am out and in desperate need or when I run out of pads. I also never used them as a young girl because my mother thought they were disgusting and I just couldn’t really figure them out at such a young age. They were also very intimidating. For a very long time I was in denial about how DISGUSTING a pad really was and just resorted to using them. I was looking for an alternative that would be cost efficient, great for the environment, and easy to use. I hadn’t heard about this little lifesaver until I saw Meagan Hughes talking about it on YouTube. She is a young 19 yr old girl whom I’ve become lowkey obsessed with. She posted a whole video about it so you should check it out! Even after watching her video I was still a like skeptical but after using it for the past couple of months I am IN LOVE. I will never use another tampon or pad in my life.

If you go out and purchase the cup and feel weird wearing it alone try a pantyliner with it for the first couple of times and that might ease your mind a bit until you feel 100% comfortable wearing it alone. Especially if you want to keep wearing your cute panties! 😉

I hope you find my review helpful when shopping for period products and that you give it a try. Visit divacup.com for more detailed information about The DivaCup and how it can benefit your everyday lifestyle!

Thanks for reading and I’ll see you soon!
